Australia's New State?

Reliable sources have informed us that secret negotiations have been taking place between Australia and New Zealand discussing the possibility of uniting the two countries. The hoped for date for this is the symbolically important Anzac Day, 2020. To placate Kiwis who feel they're being eaten up by their larger brother, the suggested new flag for the combined country is the NZ flag.

FAT FREDDY'S DROP: 2 TICKETS TO BE WON!

The Southern Cross Club is running a competition to win two tickets to the Fat Freddy's Drop concert on April 3 in Falconer Salen in Frederiksberg. To be in, send an email to committee@southerncrossclub.dk answering the following question: In what town are Fat Freddy's Drop based? Add your name and contact details and keep your fingers crossed! You're also very welcome to come to one of our café evenings and join the competition there. The next one is at Floras on Blågårdsgade in Nørrebro on Friday 12 February, 7.30pm. The lucky winners will be drawn at the following café evening on Friday 11 March (venue to be announced) from those who have answered the question correctly. So come along! There'll still be a chance to take part on March 11, but you'll need to come early.

The tickets are kindly donated by the organiser of Fat Freddy's Danish concert, who has also guaranteed that there will still be tickets available on March 11 for those not lucky enough to win theirs. (But he doesn't guarantee they won't be sold out by April 3).

In fact the concert has been moved to the larger Falconer Salen from Store Vega, because earlier concerts there have been sold out, leaving many disappointed fans.

I know a lot of you have already bought tickets, but think what a good present two tickets would be.

If any of you don't know who Fat Freddy's Drop are, I really pity you! Then you must come along to find out what you're missing out on!

See you at a Café Evening or at the Fat Freddy's concert!

Simon

Peter Heargreaves, 83, passed away in Glostrup hospital on Firday 3 Sept., peacefully.

Unfortunately he was involved in a traffic accident whilst being transported for a check-up on Tuesday. The collision left him paralyzed and in a critical condition.

Memorial and reception
----------------------
A memorial service will be held for Peter on Tuesday 21 September at 12.00 in Gladsaxe Kapel, Gladsaxe Møllevej 41.

This will be followed by a reception in Peter's honour at AB Klubben, Skovdiget.

Anyone interested is encouraged to make a donation to an "education scholarship" set up in Peter's memory by the Dansk Cricket Council with the goal of supporting promising young cricketers in an internaitonal arena.

Please consider this instead of bringing flowers.

If attending the ceremony/reception please notify Dansk Cricket Forbund v/Ole Roland dcf@cricket.dk on 43262160 or Jørgen Jønsson jjespedam@post.tele.dk on 36755935.

Rest in Peace Peter

Peter Heargreaves, 83, passed away in Glostrup hospital last night, Firday 3 Sept., peacefully.

Unfortunately he was involved in a traffic accident whilst being transported for a check-up on Tuesday. The collision left him paralised and in a critical condition.

Details of the funeral and reception will follow as soon as they are known.

I'll remember Peter for his good cheer, love of beer and cricket as well as his contribution to the sport - especially young cricketers - here in Denmark.

Thank you Peter. Rest in Peace.
